Volunteers unloading labeled medical relief boxes from a truck at sunrise, coordinating humanitarian aid delivery

From frontline volunteers to focused foundation

Helping War Victims began with grassroots volunteer convoys in 2014 and, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, became a registered Lithuanian charity dedicated to war survivors. Today we combine documented humanitarian aid with an innovative, self-funding model built around Paradox Nova — a docu-futuristic graphic novel trilogy — and the development of future VR-therapy and IT-education programs for people whose lives have been shattered by war.

Our mission & vision

Mission – why we exist

Helping War Victims is a Lithuania-registered charity (Reg. No. 306054239) created to deliver transparent, life-saving support for people affected by war and displacement. We work with partners to get medical and humanitarian aid where it is needed most and are designing long-term recovery programs — including VR-based pain and trauma relief and future-skills IT education — so survivors can rebuild their lives, not only survive the next week.

Vision – where we’re going

Our vision is a world where people who have survived war are not left behind once the headlines fade. In the coming years, our roadmap focuses on three fronts:

  • Paradox Nova – launching a docu-futuristic graphic novel trilogy based on real war experiences, intended to direct 100% of its net profits to our humanitarian and recovery programs.

  • VR-based therapy – building a pilot VR-therapy pathway in Europe to support people living with phantom limb pain and trauma-related symptoms, in collaboration with medical and mental-health professionals.

  • Future-skills IT Academy – creating a digital-skills academy for war-affected youth and disabled veterans, helping them move toward resilient, independent futures in tech and related fields.

Our story so far

2014

First volunteer convoy

Our founder begins organising volunteer trips to deliver medical kits and essential supplies to frontline towns after the first invasion of Donetsk, supporting civilians and local responders where large organisations could not yet reach.

2022

From volunteers to registered foundation

After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, Helping War Victims is formally registered in Lithuania as a charity and support fund (Labdaros ir paramos fondas “Helping war victims”). Together with partners, our team helps coordinate large-scale humanitarian operations, including hundreds of tonnes of medical and relief supplies and support for hospitals and shelters.

2023

Humanitarian missions and safe water

Humanitarian missions intensify. With partner technologies such as PAUL filters, safe-water access is provided for thousands of people in affected regions like Kherson, while rehabilitation support and co-funded surgeries help veterans and civilians begin the long path from injury to independence.

2025

From emergency to long-term recovery

We invest in designing Paradox Nova as a self-funding docu-futuristic graphic novel trilogy and developing our VR-therapy and IT-education concepts. Our goal is to move from purely emergency response towards a sustainable model where creative IP and technology help finance long-term recovery for people affected by war.

Our core values

Humanity & impartiality

We follow humanitarian principles: help is provided based on need alone, not on nationality, politics, religion, or any other status. Every person affected by war deserves dignity, safety, and a chance to rebuild.

Integrity

We do not compromise on ethics. Helping War Victims is a registered Lithuanian charity with a clear legal identity and compliance with EU nonprofit and anti-money-laundering regulations. We refuse opaque arrangements and keep our partners and processes open to scrutiny.

Accountability

We aim for lean administration and simple, understandable reporting. Donors can request financial summaries and activity information, and as we grow we are committed to publishing regular, donor-friendly snapshots that connect funds to concrete outcomes — from deliveries and surgeries to program development milestones.

Transparency

Every donation is processed through secure, auditable channels, and we link incoming funds to specific humanitarian operations and program work wherever possible. We do not promise “real-time dashboards”, but we do commit to clear, verifiable reporting that respects both donor trust and the privacy of people we serve.

Lives rebuilt and futures protected

Numbers cannot capture every story, but they help show the scale of what donors like you make possible. Since 2022, our team and partners have documented large-scale humanitarian efforts and early steps toward long-term recovery.

Relief when everything is gone

Humanitarian convoys and local partners deliver food, hygiene items, blankets, and other essentials to families who have lost homes, jobs, and security — helping them get through weeks and months when they would otherwise have nothing.

Safe water for communities

In regions where infrastructure has been damaged, portable filter systems have helped provide safe water for thousands of people, reducing disease risk and easing the burden on families already under extreme stress.

Medical support and rehabilitation

Working with hospitals and clinics, we have co-funded surgeries, rehabilitation support, and essential medical equipment, so that war-injured patients can move from crisis care toward long-term recovery and independence.
