Frequently asked questions
What is Helping War Victims?
Helping War Victims is a registered charity based in Lithuania that supports people affected by war through humanitarian aid and long-term recovery programs. Legally, we operate as Charity and Sponsorship Fund “Helping War Victims”, registration code 306054239, with our address in Vilnius, Lithuania.
What is your mission?
Our mission is to provide practical, transparent support for people whose lives have been shattered by war — from medical support, safe water, and basic relief to future-oriented recovery such as VR-based pain and trauma relief and IT skills for work. We focus on the human impact of war rather than politics and support people based on need, not nationality, religion, or political views.
Who do you help?
We prioritise civilians and families affected by war, injured veterans and people living with long-term consequences of conflict (for example, amputations, trauma symptoms and disability), and teenagers or young adults whose education and early careers were disrupted by war. Our programs are designed to support both immediate survival and long-term rebuilding.
Are you politically neutral?
Yes. Helping War Victims maintains political neutrality. We do not endorse political parties, governments or military structures. Our work is guided by humanitarian principles: we help based on need, protect the dignity and safety of the people we serve and avoid using their stories for political messaging.
Where are you registered, and how can I verify you?
We are registered as Charity and Sponsorship Fund “Helping War Victims” in Lithuania under registration code 306054239. Donors can verify our legal status in public Lithuanian registers and see us listed as a verified nonprofit on Benevity (ID 440-5594181167525_f524), a global workplace-giving and corporate-matching platform.
